Vitamin D Disease Prevention Symposium taking place in Hamilton and Toronto this November

Medical professionals and the public are invited to attend one of two free information sessions on vitamin D and disease prevention held in Ontario during November.

The symposium will be held on November 5th in Hamilton and November 6th in Toronto, and is designed to educate people on vitamin D and its health benefits.

Presentations include talks by Dr. Robert Heaney, a leading vitamin D researcher from Creighton University. Dr. Heaney will discuss the latest research on adequate vitamin D levels and disease prevention. Additionally, Dr. Reinhold Vieth, Professor of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto, will discuss vitamin D deficiency and review the latest vitamin D guidelines.

Carole Baggerly, director of GrassrootsHealth, a nonprofit organization, will also be presenting. Carole will be discussing research on vitamin D and its role in pregnancy, child health, and in preventing breast cancer.

“These research based presentations will provide clarification for the public on how to achieve optimal vitamin D levels to prevent disease, review the best sources of vitamin D and educate on how to monitor vitamin D levels,” said Perry Holman, Executive Director of the Vitamin D Society. “This is an opportunity for people to learn about vitamin D, see the research results and take action for their personal health.”

The Vitamin D Disease Prevention Symposium is free to attend. To register, RSVP to vitdsym@gmail.com or visit https://hamiltonvitdsym.eventbrite.ca/ and https://torontovitdsym.eventbrite.ca/ to sign up for a specific day.
