Information on the latest vitamin D news and research.

Find out more information on deficiency, supplementation, sun exposure, and how vitamin D relates to your health.

There is research by Dr. Michael F. Holick that indicates the best way to get vit d is by a UVB lamp. I have read that this results in vit d production that has a longer half life than supplement? With this in mind does it make sense to purchase the UVB lamp that Dr. Holick did his research on?

You can keep checking back for other opinions or information.
It does give you a longer half life but there is no proof that oral supplementation is not just as good.
Having said that there are other studies that show “wavelengths” other than those that produce Vitamin D do good things for us. So to get a lamp that does just UVB is your choice or you could get a full spectrum lamp.
