I purchased a chewable D3 supplement that claims to be vegan. Says the D3 is from lichen. I subsequently read that there are no vegan sources of D3. Now I'm confused. Is a vegan D3 supplement possible?

Well Nordic Naturals says it is possible although more expensive and that it is D3 from lichen. I do not remember us covering this subject here at the VDC but maybe I just do not recall. (I will look some more later.)
Besides the Nordic Naturals I found a chewable called Healthy Origins, it has 1000iu per gummy and 90 in a bottle and costs $15.00. So if you took the 5000iu a day that we recommend here at the VDC that keeps you healthy, that would be an 18 day supply. So two bottles a month at a cost of $30.00. The D3 (not vegan) I buy is $15.00 and would be an 8 month supply at 5000iu a day. I know money isn’t everything so individuals would have to decide.

I use Country Life Vegan D3 5,000 I.U. and it’s $15.00/60 capsules 1 capsule per serving. You can find it all over online :)
