You have me stumped with the high Vitamin D value that will not decrease. If you were to “overdose” on Vitamin D they would tell you to take no supplements with D in them, probably stay away from any food that is fortified with it and stay out of the sun. Do you have any overdose symptoms?
There are health conditions that you can read about at http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/further-topics/vitamin-d-hypersensitivity/. These conditions usually cause calcium levels to increase. I assume yours are OK.
Statin drugs “increase” Vitamin D levels. Do you take any other medications on a regular basis?
I really have no scientific reason to ask this but how much magnesium do you take? Do you know what your blood levels were before you started supplementing?
Since your level is not anywhere near 150ng/ml and is under the 100ng/ml I am not sure you should worry but I am not a doctor or scientist. The 50ng/ml is not the magic number everyone has to have. It is the minimum.

The response from my doctor is same as you suggested. I did have a fall and experienced some vertigo. So the dr suggested that might be the problem. I continued to experience the dizziness and worked on my own to figure it out after several very expensive tests and a visit to the neurologist without getting a definitive answer.
I stay away from processed foods as much as I can but it is hard as most of what we eat is processed in some way or another. I have a smoothie every morning and usually use a green leafy vegetable such as kale, swiss chard, dandelion greens. Would that be too much vitamin D from eating greens that often? Almond milk too is fortified with Vitamin D and E.
I didn’t know what my blood levels where when I started but have had several blood tests over the years and no one has ever mentioned the Vitamin D to me. I take about 175 mg of magnesium per day and that has helped. I do not take anything else except pro biotic. I know I should be taking calcium but have not found one that seems to make a difference. The only other thing on my blood test was hgb was considered low at 13.4 range was 13.6 – 17.5 but I don’t know what hgb is hemoglobin? I did read the article you suggested but will have to print it and read it more thoroughly.

Eating the “greens” would be a good thing. Salmon has a lot of D in it. You could try more magnesium and see if that does anything. The most that will happen if you take “too much” magnesium is that you will get loose bowls. Then you just adjust the amount you take until you no longer do. “Some research studies show that your body needs between 500 and 700 mg a day.”Answered by IAW on March 5, 2015 at 4:37 am
