How long before testing vitamin D levels should one stop vitamin D supplementation? I'm surprised to not be able to find the answer to this question anywhere on the internet. But maybe it's because it doesn't matter. I just know that for other kinds of nutrients/supplements, it's important to stop a few days beforehand for an accurate reading (or it usually shows much higher than what's really being retained), and I thought I would check. Thank you!

I believe Dr. Cannel said do what you would normally do and then go get the test. Me, I like to not take it before I have the test that day and take the vitamin D after. Vitamin D is a cumulative thing so I really can’t see a big difference between taking and not taking that day before the test.
