Marshall University 25th annual Research Day

I want to publicly thank Professor Franklin Shuler of Marshall University School of Medicine for inviting me to give a series of lectures and the keynote address at their 25th annual research day on March 18th and 19th. It was truly an honor. I also want to thank all the other professors and staff that gave me such a warm reception.

First, on Monday the 18th, I gave a lecture for the general public on vitamin D. Although I had 70 PowerPoint slides, I was able to finish the talk in 45 minutes, leaving a lot of time for the many questions the talk generated.

The next day, at 7am, I spoke to the orthopedists on the application of vitamin D to fractures, falls prevention, bone density, ICU mortality, and athletic performance. The room was packed and the audience was most attentive.

Finally, at 11:30am, I gave the keynote address for their 25th annual research day. Again, the auditorium was packed; I again finished the talk in 45 minutes, mainly reviewing the plethora of randomized controlled trials recently published about vitamin D’s effectiveness in a breathtakingly wide variety of human illness. Again, the talk generated many questions.

As an activist, and not an academic, I was unsure how I would be received by the academic community at Marshall Medical School. I should not have been worried as the reception was warm, courteous, and attentive. It was truly an honor to be invited and a wonderful experience.

Here is a link to the PowerPoint slides I used in my three talks. Feel free to use any of the slides that may be helpful to you.

These Power Point presentations are very well done and provide an excellent snapshot of the state of things now. Many thanks and a happy holiday to all.

    Dr. Cannell~~

As one activist to another, thank you for continuing to “fight the good fight.” It can be exhausting work; and I haven’t been doing this as long as you have…

Whenever I get tired, I tell myself, we’re one day closer to ending this pandemic. I hope you feel this way too.

I’m certain that I speak for all in the VDC community in expressing our gratitude at your dedication and courageousness. Vitamin D is still a very controversial topic in mainstream medicine.

One day though (perhaps in the next 50 years), we’ll be proven correct…I think Vitamin D will be found to be the master hormone. And, I hope you receive your place in history.
    You have earned it.

    Be well,
    Rita

Yes! Many thanks from myself and for my family!!! Had it not been for you website, we would still be struggling! You saved at least five lives, six if you count the dog. Ivy

  5. Rita and Misty says:

    @IAW,

Dr. Cannell has certainly saved lives….MANY more than 5 or 6…if all the people whose lives he touched were simply brave enough to reach out and save just one life each we would easily end this pandemic today…

(okay, perhaps this a teeny bit of an overstatement…but I hope you see my point)

Cannell’s research is excellent, and his courage far surpasses that…

    :)
